Annual Public Meeting
This year, Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) Annual Public Meeting was held virtually on Tuesday 19 September 2023.
The meeting was an opportunity to reflect on the Trust’s performance, progress, and achievements during 2022/23 and how we have worked together with our partners to improve services and provide the best possible care to people in Lincolnshire.
You can watch a recording from LCHS's Annual Public meeting:
How will the group model improve services for patients?
The group model will mean that LCHS and ULHT will work closer
together and the goal is to integrate our care so that we get better outcomes for
patients. There is evidence from around the country where other organisations have
formed a group and this has had a positive impact.
Is LCHS going to merge with ULHT in the near future?
No, LCHS and ULHT are entering a group model. We want to integrate
our services as much as we can, as quickly as we can to provide better services
to the people of Lincolnshire.
Are you planning to do any drop-in digital sessions in Sleaford?
Unfortunately, not at the moment, but this doesn’t mean that
support is available. The LCHS drop-in sessions are focusing on the east coast
of Lincolnshire. Our LCHS digital coach also travels across the county,
visiting people's homes to offer one-to-one digital support. You can access
this by calling 01522 572916.
In addition to this, our digital team has developed strong
partnerships with other organisations and can guide people towards additional
support services available throughout the county. You can visit the Connect to Support
Lincolnshire website, which lists all the support services available across
the county.
What are you doing to improve recruitment and retention
issues in Lincolnshire?
To improve recruitment, we have created a Lincolnshire-wide attraction
strategy to bring together all the organisations under a One Workforce banner
and the Be Lincolnshire campaign has been relaunched. We have also ensured that
our job adverts include information about living and working in the county and
in health and care to try to attract people from out of the county to relocate
to Lincolnshire.
Working as a system, we have a calendar of career events and
fairs that we are attending collaboratively particularly at schools and colleges
across the county to ensure we raise the profile of careers in health. We’re also
working to ensure that our recruitment process is as smooth and timely as possible
for the candidates.
To try and address the retention we have done some analysis
of why people are choosing to leave their roles in our organisation. There has been
a big focus on flexible working to support those who want to remain but need
some flexibility or need adjustments to their roles. We have a cost-of-living
working group who are trying to mitigate financial barriers.
Lincolnshire has been selected as an exemplar site for the NHS people promise programme nationally to focus on retaining our people. We are also focusing on health and wellbeing by supporting staff to stay fit and well at work.
