What is happening to Pennygate Health Centre?
Dr Nathu is retiring on 8th September 2018 and so the contract to provide GP services at the Pennygate Health Centre will cease from this date. From this date the name of the service will be Johnson GP Centre.
What does this mean for patients registered at Pennygate Health Centre?
Pennygate Health Centre will close as a GP surgery. South Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS England have worked together to appoint an interim healthcare provider to manage the patient list, whilst longer term arrangements are considered.
From Monday 10th September, Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) will provide GP services from Johnson Hospital, Spalding.
In the meantime, you do not need to do anything further. Dr Nathu at Pennygate Health Centre will continue to look after you and your family until Friday 7th September.
The CCG will transfer all patients from Pennygate Health Centre to the Johnson GP Centre.
Where will the surgery be located and how do I contact the surgery?
The new surgery will be adjacent to the Minor Injuries Unit within Johnson Hospital.
From 8th September onwards please contact 01775 652164 to book appointments and order repeat prescriptions.
Why has this happened?
As Dr. Nathu has retired,
interim arrangements have been put into place from an alternative location.
What if I don’t want to transfer to Johnson Hospital?
Patients who do not wish to transfer to the Johnson GP Centre can register at another GP practice at any time provided their home address falls within the practice’s catchment area - and should contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) for more information
tel: 0300 123 9553
As the service which LCHS are providing is a
new agreement the regulations do not allow dispensing services. Therefore
patients will receive prescriptions from LCHS,
however to get the prescriptions dispensed patients will need to go to a
pharmacy of their choice.
How many people are affected?
Pennygate Health Centre
list size is around 3,200 patients.
What is the longer term plan?
Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS)
will manage the patient list until at least the 31st March
2019. This will allow the CCG and NHS
England time to determine what the long term arrangement should be.
