Changes to access of minor injury units in Gainsborough and Spalding

7th April 2020

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) is temporarily changing the way patients access care from its minor injury units.

LCHS is making these changes to ensure patients are looked after in a way that best protects members of the public during this period of immense pressure due to coronavirus.

From 6pm today, 7 April 2020, there is no longer a walk in service at the Minor Injury Unit at Johnson Community Hospital in Spalding, access will now be provided through NHS 111.

These changes will be implemented at the Minor Injury Unit at John Coupland Hospital in Gainsborough at 8pm tomorrow, Wednesday, 8 April 2020.

LCHS is working hard with other NHS healthcare providers to prevent the spread of coronavirus and to ensure NHS staff are in the right places to care for patients as best we can in these unprecedented times.

The Trust is focusing its resources on its home visiting and virtual consultation function, to ensure we can continue to deliver a high quality and responsive service.

The changes to the way services are delivered at these minor injury units will be reviewed regularly and re-opened as soon as possible.
