Less than three weeks left until the Covid-19 vaccination campaign closes

People across Lincolnshire are being reminded that, if they are eligible and would still like to have a Covid-19 vaccination, they only have until Wednesday 31st January 2024 to get vaccinated.

“For anyone who’s eligible and yet to have a Covid-19 vaccination as part of the current campaign, this really is your last chance for the time being to get vaccinated,” explains Karen Hewinson, Head of Clinical Services, Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust.

“Between now and the end of January, our teams will continue to run outreach vaccination sessions at a number of sites around Lincolnshire, and also at the Weighing Rooms, Carholme Road, Lincoln.  Provided you are eligible, any of these can be attended on a walk-in basis without the need for an appointment.”

You can find a list of scheduled Covid-19 vaccination sessions here, including those in Lincoln at the Weighing Rooms for 5-17 year-olds every Friday from 5th to 26th January between 3.30pm and 4.30pm, as well as for people aged 18 and over every Thursday and Friday between 11am and 1pm, until 26th January.

“All of the vaccination sessions we are running between now and the end of January are offering walk-in Covid-19 vaccinations to eligible adults and children aged 5-17 years-old, unless otherwise stated, on a ‘first come, first served’ basis and you can find details on the NHS Lincolnshire ICB website.

“Just to remind people, it is no longer possible to book appointments online or via telephone, but we hope the option to just walk-in will encourage anyone yet to be vaccinated to come and see us in the next couple of weeks,” adds Karen.

The two remaining scheduled outreach vaccination sessions – Spalding on Wednesday 17th January, between 11.30am-4.45pm, and Skegness on Wednesday 24th January, between 10.30am-3.30pm, will also be offering walk-in flu vaccinations to those aged 18 and over provided they are eligible.

In addition to this, some community pharmacies continue to offer Covid-19 vaccinations until the end of January – there is an updated list and map showing their locations here.  In addition, anyone eligible for a free flu vaccination can still contact their GP practice or visit a pharmacy offering the service, if aged 18 and over, until 31st March 2024.

People eligible for both winter vaccines – flu and Covid-19 – include all aged 65 and over, including those turning 65 years of age by 31st March 2024, those that are pregnant, those aged 6 months and above with certain health conditions, care home residents, frontline health and social care staff, unpaid carers and household contacts of people with a weakened immune system.
