Lincolnshire people still coming forward for Covid-19 vaccination with less than two weeks left

Posted on: 19th January 2024

With just under two weeks to go until the current Covid-19 vaccination campaign closes on Wednesday 31st January, Lincolnshire people are still coming forwards to get vaccinated.

Since the current vaccination campaign began on 11th September 2023, NHS vaccination teams in Lincolnshire have to-date given more than 203,000 vaccinations as part of the drive to ensure eligible people have the maximum possible protection against Covid-19.

“The Covid-19 vaccination has been delivered by GP practices, community pharmacies, from our vaccination centres and at outreach sessions in locations spread across Lincolnshire, and the response from the public has once again been fantastic,” comments Julie Humphreys, Head of Clinical Services, Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust.

“As we are very close to the end of the campaign, my advice to anyone eligible for a Covid-19 vaccination who’s yet to have it and wants to get vaccinated is simple – come and see us as soon as you can, and certainly no later than 31st January, and we will be happy to see you and get you vaccinated.”

At the time of writing, there are still a number of scheduled vaccination clinics due to take place for people aged 18 and over at the Weighing Rooms, Carholme Road, Lincoln - between 11am and 1pm today, Friday 19th January, as well as next Thursday 25th and Friday 26th

There are also sessions at the Weighing Rooms for 5-17 year-olds today, Friday 19th, and next Friday 26th, in the afternoons between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.

In addition, there is one remaining outreach session due to be held at the Storehouse, Skegness, on Wednesday 24th January, for anyone eligible including 5-17 year-olds.  The flu vaccination will also be available at this clinic for anyone aged 18 and over.

“Just a reminder that is no longer possible to book appointments online or via telephone, however, all of the vaccination sessions our teams are running can be attended as a walk-in, without the need for an appointment,” adds Julie.

Some community pharmacies continue to offer Covid-19 vaccinations until the end of January – there is an updated list and map showing their locations here.  In addition, anyone eligible for a free flu vaccination can still contact their GP practice or visit a pharmacy offering the service, if aged 18 and over, until 31st March 2024.

People eligible for both winter vaccines – flu and Covid-19 – include all aged 65 and over, including those turning 65 years of age by 31st March 2024, those that are pregnant, those aged 6 months and above with certain health conditions, care home residents, frontline health and social care staff, unpaid carers and household contacts of people with a weakened immune system.
